From the early 1950s Aquaplane produced a whole range of products for all types of engines. But for now I will just concentrate on the Ford sidevalve parts.
Aquaplane tuning parts are a must for all owners of Ford Ten specials. Not only because they increase the performance of your car, but also because they looked so good with their polished aluminium and red paint set against the dark green of the engine block.
Below are two versions of their E93A cylinder heads. As can be seen the one on the right has the water take offs on either end of the head for the special with a very low bonnet line. These were both available for the 8 and 10hp engine as well as the 100E and although there were other companies making them it is the Aquaplane head that you will see on most Ford specials today.
As well as the cylinder heads Aquaplane
produced a wide range of inlet manifolds for lots of different carburetors.
Below is a manifold for twin SU carbs, but they were also available for Zenith
and Solex for both the E93A and 100E. There was also a range for marine versions of
these engines for your speed boat.

If fitting an Aquaplane inlet and you wanted to keep the original Ford exhaust, you needed to fit an Aquaplane four branch exhaust manifold.

For most builders of Ford specials, the body shells they used whether home made, or off the shelf, had a low bonnet line and this meant that the radiator had to be lower than the engine and the thermo siphon cooling system could not be used. To move the water around, a Ford export water pump must be used or if you had a bit more money you could purchase an aluminium Aquaplane pump .
Aquaplane could also supply the timing cover with a camshaft driven drive for a rev counter, a high lift camshaft, three types of aluminium valve chest cover and this really nice looking oil cooler that I mount in the grill of my cars.

There are lots more items that Aquaplane made and they were all available from their Oulten Broad premises until the early 1970s. In the 1990s some of the items were reproduced by Belcher Engineering. These can be identified by the letters BE cast into them below the word Aquaplane.
