CRS were an engineering firm who offered a wide range of services to the special builder. From early 1961 they started to stock a range of fibreglass shells from other manufacturers including EB and Naco.

Then in June 1961 they announced the Conquest chassis for Ford E93A mechanicals. Constructed from 3" square 16swg tube it is said to have a torsional stiffness of nearly three times that of the Ford chassis. Included in the basic specification was the double cantilever rear spring, similar to the Cooper formula cars.

In July 1961 CRS the Century chassis was available for more powerful engines such as Climax or MGA. Front suspension was by coil spring and wishbones and it had rack and pinion steering. The rear axle was located by a Watts linkage and Panhard rod.

Both chassis had a wheelbase of 7` 6" although this could be altered upon request and they would accept all of the proprietary shells available at the time. The price of the Conquest was £48 although this did not include the front suspension.
